Thank you for coming to visit our site! Our wedding was held at St. Peter's Church in Kahaluu, Kona, Hawaii February 12th, 2002. Please be patient as our photos load.

Arriving at the church, my darling husband got us a limo - good thing since I doubt I would have fit in our rental car in this dress!

Before the wedding, the photographer had us kissing a dozen times before the minister told us to, but that was ok! I think that's the most we've ever kissed in public ever! My dress was found in New Orleans, thanks to my new mother-in-law. I had something else entirely in mind but when I tried this on, I had to have it.

I had some help getting ready, it's quite a treat to have someone else do your hair and makeup. My dear friends, Kanoe Keanaaina and Deb Ward were there to keep me calm and untangled. Deb came out from San Francisco to stand up with me.
Traditions
Something Old - My great-grandmother, Jane Ann Cornell Wheeler's wedding handkerchef
Something New - My shoes
Something Borrowed - My lipstick, from my maid of honor, Deb
Something Blue - My garter, a gift from Kanoe
And a penny in my shoe!
Hawaiian - The haku (head) lei, has traditionally been worn by brides for many years. The maile leis that Steve and I exchanged during the ceremony stand for eternity and luck.
Filipino - The Filipino money dance is the first dance of the bride and groom. Well-wishers fold up money and place it in the bride or groom's mouth. They in turn pass it to their new spouse then drop it on the floor.
Wedding Cake- Wedding cake has its origins in a Roman wedding tradition of breaking a small loaf of bread over the bride's head for fertility. Cutting the first slice of cake represents a commitment to share whatever path life takes. Giving each other a small piece of cake is a symbol of the vow of love, honor and respect. We DID NOT smash the cake into each other's faces! Our cake was white with strawberries and decorated with orchids.
Bouquet Toss - Much as I didn't want to give up my calla lilies, I bowed to tradition, and the lucky woman who caught it was Deb Ward!
